January 21
I write from a mountain top outside Boone, NC where the Stringdusters have been working on music for a few days. We finish up our January Tour this week then I'm staying close to home with house concerts in NoVA and Roanoke, duo shows with Sarah Siskind in Lexington and Martinsville, VA and solo shows at Blue Mountain and C'Ville Coffee. March and April are long tours with the Stringdusters and in between I'll be visiting Brevard and Boone, NC and Roanoke and Roseland, VA on my Bluegrass, Beer and Bikes Tour, brought to you by Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine. We'll meet up for a group mountain bike ride during the day then roll into the local brewery for a party to raise money for the local trail system. More info to come.

December 7
Coming off an incredible weekend with the Stringdusters in Colorado. Collaborations with Kyle Hollingsworth and some of the fellas from Greensky Bluegrass were highlights. Last week Sunliner recorded our debut EP in Nashville and... it's incredible. So inspiring to have a new challenge, new music, a new instrument, and a new aesthetic (rock band).

I just booked two shows near home; Fardowners in Crozet, VA on December 19th and Bold Rock Cidery in Wintergreen, VA on December 21st. Very excited about New Years Eve in Brevard with The Larry Keel Experience, Jeff Sipe and Jeremy Garrett. I'll be joining Larry and opening band, Jon Stickley Trio on NYE, then Jeremy, Sarah Siskind and the David Wax Museum will be collaborating on a New Years Day Gospel Brunch. Should be a blast! Stringdusters hit the road again in earnest January 9th with shows in Snowshoe, WV, Falls Church, VA, Athens, GA and points in between. See you out there.

November 11
Back home in Nelson County after two incredible weeks of music on opposite sides of the country. Night of the Living Dead with Keller Williams went off and the Everyone Orchestra shows in Colorado last weekend were completely mind-blowing. I was also grateful for the opportunity to play a handful of house concerts on Colorado's Front Range but it's great to be back in Nelson County, VA for the last couple weeks of fall.
